Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is recruiting a Full Time Registered Pharmacy Technician
SHIFT: 7:00am-3:00pm
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
Registered Pharmacy Technicians are responsible to assist and support the Pharmacists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to the patients of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and the Schoellkopf Health Center. Pharmacy Technicians perform functions related to the preparation, storage and delivery of patient medications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Per NYS, assist pharmacist as directed, in compounding, preparing, labeling, or dispensing of drugs used to fill valid prescriptions or medication orders or in compounding, preparing, and labeling in anticipation of a valid prescription or medication order for a patient to be served by the facility…where such tasks require no professional judgment.
- Maintains thorough knowledge in the use of aseptic technique.
- Sterile IV products are compounded in the Laminar Flow Hood using aseptic technique.
- Must be able to utilize supplies necessary for the preparation of IVs such as needles, syringes, stopcocks, IV tubing, filter apparatus, etc.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of various dosage forms of drugs, mathematical calculations, usual dosage ranges, routes of administration, and times of administration.
- Fills patient orders with unit-dose packaged drugs.
- Delivers medications to the appropriate patient care areas.
- Stocks and maintains medications in the Pyxis machines as needed.

Pay: $25.54 - $33.95 per hour
