Description
Responsible for the operation of a 7-passenger/ mini-van vehicle transporting students from school to learning center facility.
Responsibilities
- Transport students from school to learning center facility during after-school programs.
- Takes attendance of children at each pick-up location. Makes sure all children are accounted for.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety of students in loading, unloading, and transporting them to and from the learning center facility.
- Communicate with learning center staff about route changes
- Performs pre-route inspection
- Reports any concerns or maintenance issues
- Assures vehicle meets regularly scheduled maintenance standards
- Complies with local traffic regulations. Reports delays or accidents
- May assist teachers in supervising children as required
- Performs light vehicle cleaning on a daily basis, and more thorough cleaning weekly
- Fill vehicle with gas as needed
- Be a positive role model for children
- Performs other similar or related duties as necessary
Qualifications
- Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and knowledge of all Department of Transportation Guidelines for the transporting of children
- Driving experience: 4 years
- He/She must meet all state and local requirements for the position, including Motor Vehicle Administration Check, physical and Criminal Background Checks.
- Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high
- Must be at least 21 with some college course complete or in progress
Hours: Monday - Friday (12:30 pm - 3:00 pm) About 15 hours a week

Hourly Rate: $16 - $18/hour
