The Role
An opportunity to cover maternity leave cover has arisen within the Teenage and Young Adult cancer team based at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. We are looking to recruit a Teenage Cancer Trust Youth Support Co-ordinator to provide age appropriate care and support to Teenagers and Young Adults (aged 16-25) with cancer.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with extensive experience of working with young people. To be successful in this role you will need to be emotionally resilient, have compassion, sensitivity and a sense of humour. An ability to work autonomously and be proactive is also essential. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering tailored 1 to 1 and group support on and off the unit. They will lead and contribute to recreational and support activities using face to face and remote/ virtual means to encourage and promote peer support.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.
This is fixed-term post for 12 months, working 14.4 hours per week.
The role is based at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, G12 0YN.
