This is a Part-time Respite Position. Respite responsibilities include the care and supervision of individuals under the age of 18 receiving services.
Base starting pay:
- $17.00/hour- Standard base rate
Eligible employees receive a starting bonus!!
*New employee starting bonuses to be paid after 90 days of employment:
- Part-time positions: $125.00
Overview
The Community Support Specialist/Direct Support Professional works 1:1 with semi-independent individuals with disabilities in their homes and local communities across the Minnesota Iron Range and surrounding communities. The position will support independent living and daily task management through , promoting community involvement and facilitating leisure activities. This position offers a high level of independent working, decision making and flexible schedule management based on client needs. *Drivers license and personal vehicle is required, must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to NHS Northstar’s insurance carrier (paid mileage reimbursement available).

- Weekends only (Friday - Sunday)
- Rotated weekends
- 12 hour shift available
Qualifications
Experience/Education/Training
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
Regulatory Requirements/Licensure
- Valid Driver’s License
- Department of Human Services Background Check
- Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to NHS Northstar’s insurance carrier
