Position Summary
The Payroll Coordinator / Financial Specialist Assistant / HR Payroll Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, while supporting human resources, on-boarding, and daily business office functions.
What You’ll Do
Payroll (Primary Focus)
- Process payroll accurately and on time
- Collect, calculate, and enter employee time and pay data
- Ensure compliance with payroll policies and regulations
- Respond to payroll-related questions and maintain confidentiality
- Review and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Assist with on-boarding new hires (background checks, drug screens, I-9, E-Verify)
- Process and enter new employee information into payroll system
- Distribute benefits information and support employee documentation
- Conduct WOTC process and assist with new hire orientation tasks
- Maintain and audit personnel files
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist with clerical duties
- Maintain organized records and filing systems
- Generate reports related to payroll, attendance, and HR functions
- Serve as liaison between employees and HR, Benefits, and Accounting
- Support overall business office operations
- Complete Workers’ Compensation reports and OSHA logs
- Track employee leave and assist with leave management
- Support audits and regulatory compliance processes
- 3–5 years of payroll and/or accounting experience required
- Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of payroll systems (UKG experience a plus)
- Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Monday–Friday schedule (no weekends!)
