Position Summary: Medication Assistant Certified ( MAC )
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medication Assistant, Certified (MAC) to join our team. Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role plays a critical part in maintaining resident safety, compliance, and quality clinical outcomes in our long-term care and rehabilitation environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications as delegated and permitted by state regulations
- Observe residents for medication effectiveness and report concerns to licensed nurses
- Document medication administration accurately and timely
- Follow infection control and medication safety procedures
- Assist with maintaining medication carts, supplies, and storage areas
- Support nursing staff with resident care as needed
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Current Medication Assistant Certification in Alabama
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Active CNA certification in good standing (if required by state guidelines)
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow clinical direction and communicate effectively
- Commitment to resident safety and quality care
