What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Specialist / Business Office Manager position at NHS Management, LLC?
JOB DETAILS
We're looking for an experienced revenue cycle leader to own the financial performance of our business offices across a growing portfolio of skilled nursing facilities. This is a high-visibility role with real operational authority — you'll set the standard for how our billing, collections, and payer relations run, and you'll have the C-suite access to move things forward.
If you're the kind of professional who finds genuine satisfaction in clean accounts, properly filed claims, and a team that knows exactly what to do — we want to meet you.
What you'll do
You'll oversee the full lifecycle of business office operations — from claim submission through final collection — ensuring compliance with Medicaid, Medicare Part A & B, and managed care requirements. You'll mentor facility-level staff, identify process gaps, and partner with leadership to drive revenue integrity across our locations. Your fingerprints will be on the financial health of the organization.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with skilled nursing facility billing, including Medicaid, Medicare Part A & B, HMOs, and managed care — along with familiarity navigating Medicaid applications and pending patient management. A strong grounding in GAAP, agency reimbursement programs, and financial reporting is essential, as is intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency and experience with major accounting and general ledger platforms.
Beyond the technical skills, we're looking for someone who leads with clarity — able to communicate effectively across a team, present confidently to leadership, and hold accountable the people and processes that keep the business office running. A BS in Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Management is preferred, though equivalent experience will absolutely be considered.
