The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations of the facility. The ADON plays a vital role in staff development, clinical oversight, and maintaining a positive and professional care environment.
Qualifications
- Current R.N. license in the state of Alabama
- Must have at least two years of nursing experience
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
- Ability to lead a team with professionalism and compassion
- Excellent communication skills with staff, residents, and families
- Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations
- Supervise, guide, and support nurses and nursing assistants
- Ensure care plans are implemented and updated appropriately
- Monitor resident conditions and communicate changes to physicians and families
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
- Participate in audits, quality assurance, and infection control initiatives
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and overall clinical workflow
- Support staffing coordination and scheduling needs
- Mentor and develop nursing staff to strengthen the clinical team
- Serve as acting DON in the absence of the Director of Nursing
