What are the responsibilities and job description for the 237869 Specialist Occupational Therapist position at NHS Ayrshire & Arran?
We are looking to recruit a part time Band 6 Occupational Therapist on a permanent basis for our AHP team within the Stewartry area of Dumfries and Galloway. The Occupational Therapy team provide not only inpatient rehabilitation but also community rehabilitation, either in the Occupational Therapy department or within peoples own homes.
You would be working within a well-established and very welcoming service. The role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a diverse range of professionals. The role has the potential for future development in postural management.
Due to the ever changing health and social care climate, this post holder may be required in the future to work flexibly within the context of working regular weekends to provide a 6 or 7 days per week service. There is also a requirement to travel to different workplaces in response to service developments and future needs.
Work-base to be decided and can be discussed further at interview.
Interviews will be face to face as there will be a practical element to complete.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
