Position: Unit Secretary
NHC HealthCare Lexington is looking for a Unit Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate would have experience working in a health care setting.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or Equivalent.
- CNA with Administrative Experience
- Ability to communicate professional orally and written
- Basic computer skills required
- Familiar with answering a multi-line phone system
- Knowledge to operate basic office equipment
Responsibilities
- Answer unit phones, direct calls, and answer questions as needed.
- Schedule patient appointments, and notify families of upcoming appointments.
- Confirm and arrange patient transport.
- Manage documents for patient appointments, discharges, and room changes.
- Communicate daily appointments, admissions, discharges, and room changes to unit CNAs.
- Answer call lights, assist with meals, and provide assistance to patients as needed.
- Pass ice and obtain vitals at the start of the work day.
- Attend patient admission and care plan meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the unit manager or ADON.
