Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper

NH Bookkeeping Services LLC is a full service accounting firm serving individuals and businesses with their accounting needs. We offer payroll, bookkeeping and tax preparation services for our clients. We are looking for an individual with accounting experience that can assist primarily with bookkeeping/payroll, but be able to help support the peak of tax season. This position will be a full time job with more flexible hours during the off season of May-December and more hours (including the opportunity for overtime) during January-April. This position has internal growth potential in a rapidly growing company.

Skills needed:

Previous experience with Quickbooks desktop and Quickbooks online or other related bookkeeping practices and procedures

Knowledge of general accounting/bookkeeping procedures including data entry, reconciliation of accounts, AP/AR, maintaining organized records, general journal entries, etc.

Previous experience with processing payroll and understanding of basic payroll processing procedures

Preferred: Experience working with tax preparation/ handling or familiarity with tax documents.

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and work independently

Attention to detail with accuracy

Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment

Provide support to other focuses of the business as needed

Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office, particularly Excel and Word
