About the RoleOur client is seeking an experienced RF ATE Test Engineer who is passionate about advancing low‑power wireless connectivity solutions. In this role, you will be central to validating and verifying cutting‑edge RF systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and quality.
You’ll work cross‑functionally to define test requirements, develop automated test environments, and support the delivery of high‑quality semiconductor products. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on engineering environment and enjoys solving complex RF and test‑automation challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and manage automated test equipment (ATE) solutions for wireless semiconductor devices
- Define test strategies, create test cases, and execute test plans
- Analyse test results to ensure device functionality, performance, and reliability
- Develop and maintain test programs on the Advantest V93K tester (Wavescale option) within the SmarTest 8 environment
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise testing processes
- Support system‑level validation and verification activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test methodologies and workflows
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5 years of experience in ATE test engineering or similar role
- 5 years of hands‑on RF testing experience
- Strong understanding of communications theory and signal processing
- Proficiency with RF and digital test equipment (spectrum analysers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc.)
- Experience writing test programs on the Advantest V93K platform
- Proficiency in Java (Python or R is a plus)
- Experience with communication protocols such as FPGA, SerDes, I2C, Ethernet, PCI, USB, SPI, UART
- Background in analog electronics or electrical power systems
- Ability to work onsite and commute to the San Jose location
- Familiarity with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) systems
- Experience with system‑level validation/verification
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality processes
- Experience mentoring or leading RF test teams
- Previous experience in the semiconductor or wireless communications industry
