Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, hands-on care and supervision for children in a safe and nurturing environment
- Support daily routines including feeding, nap time, hygiene, and age-appropriate activities
- Plan and assist with developmentally appropriate play and learning activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-safe environment at all times
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and daily updates
- Monitor children's behavior and emotional well-being, reporting any concerns to supervisors
- Follow all childcare policies, safety protocols, and licensing regulations
Requirements:
- Previous experience in childcare, early childhood education, or a related caregiving role preferred
- Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and families
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass a background check in compliance with DC childcare regulations
- Patient, reliable, and adaptable with a team-oriented attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in child development is a plus
- CDA (child development associate) OR associate degree)/BA (bachelor's degree) in Education
