Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Medical Laboratory Technician located in Accra, Ghana. The Medical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols. Daily tasks include conducting tests using laboratory equipment, performing quality control checks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for laboratory medicine. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic results is essential.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Medical Technology and Laboratory Medicine with the ability to adhere to diagnostic workflows accurately
- Strong Laboratory Skills, including specimen handling, processing, and performing tests according to standard procedures
- Experience with Quality Control practices to ensure accuracy and reliability in test results
- Familiarity with Laboratory Equipment and its maintenance
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field, along with certification by a recognized accrediting agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is preferred
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is an advantage
