NFP Corp. is seeking an experienced employment counsel to support NFP’s Human Resources Department as a member of the NFP Legal team. In this role, the individual will be responsible for drafting and revising offer letters, employment agreements, and separation agreements, as well as reviewing and analyzing restrictive covenant agreements. In addition, the individual will provide advice and counsel on performance management issues, accommodations, and risk mitigation strategies. The individual will report to the Senior Vice President - Associate General Counsel, Employment.

In this role, the individual will be responsible for drafting and revising offer letters, employment agreements, and separation agreements, as well as reviewing and analyzing restrictive covenant agreements. In addition, the individual will provide advice and counsel on performance management issues, accommodations, and risk mitigation strategies. The individual will report to the Senior Vice President - Associate General Counsel, Employment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Review, revise and draft offer letters, employment agreement amendments, internal promotion letters, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements and independent contractor agreements
- Support human resources on performance management issues, leave accommodations, wage and hour matters, immigration issues, and background check matters.
- Provide training to Human Resources, Talent and Recruiting on updates to employment laws and regulations across the US and globally
- Review and assist in drafting policies and procedures related to Human Resources
- Collaborate and advise the business on matters related to restrictive covenants questions and draft and respond to cease-and-desist letters
- Assist in responding to and negotiating pre-litigation employment matters and manage outside counsel, as needed
- Be a trusted advisor to the business and provide counsel on areas of improvement and strategies to mitigate risk related to employee issues
- Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good organizational and planning skills, with a proven ability to manage time well in a fast-paced, ever-changing, team-oriented environment
- Proven administrative skills and expertise
- High level of integrity and strict adherence to protecting confidential information
- Positive attitude and team player
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in writing and editing
- Experience providing timely advice on matters pertaining to employment & labor laws
- Significant experience in drafting, interpreting and advising on restrictive covenants law
- Juris Doctor degree (required)
- Doctorate or better in Law (preferred)
- 4-7 years substantive labor and employment experience with a corporate legal department or recognized law firm
- 4-7 years’ experience with employment law
- Licensed to practice law in at least one state, Texas, New York or California, preferred

Salary : $140,000 - $190,000
