What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Processor position at NFM Lending?
This candidate will be responsible for the entire end-to-end mortgage loan process. They will gather and process all loan documentation and ensure compliance with policy, regulatory, and loan terms.
Responsibilities
- Review each loan file to verify that documents are present, accurate, and complete before underwriting
- Manage loan process through mortgage software system
- Order property and loan documentation such as appraisals, inspections, title searches, site surveys, contracts, and property tax records to help process mortgage loan files
- Ensure that loan rules, obligations, and deadlines are met
- Audit and prepare quality files that meet closing objectives
- Obtain mortgage loan documentation for clients
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Industry experience required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of valid documentation related to the processing consumer mortgage applications (e.g., tax returns, financial statements, and records, verification of income and deposits, etc.).
- Sound judgment, ability to think critically, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline‐driven environment; strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and regulatory requirements related to consumer mortgage lending, processes and controls.
