Responsibilities
- Daily operational point-of-contact for internal NFI divisions and clients
- Provides guidance and training to TM Coordinators, Planners, Team Planning Leads & Account Managers
- Ability to oversee and establish strong, positive relationships with vendors. Ensuring the consistent and cost-effective procurement of transportation services needed for operations
- This role involves monitoring and evaluating vendor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring service and cost efficiency
- Primary point of contact for all vendor-related communications and issues, working to resolve problems proactively
- Experience managing the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods using refrigerated (reefer) equipment including all modes of transportation
- Knowledge and understanding of temperature-controlled requirements to ensure compliance is maintained throughout a shipments life cycle
- Project manage new implementations and continuous improvement exercises for key customers
- Manage customer and carrier aging
- Identify and effectively implement continuous improvement strategies that improve internal and external operations
- Execute operations based on contract language with a focus on key performance indicators and service level agreements
- Manage a team of TM coordinators and facilitate daily operational activities to service the customer
- Create & implement custom operational procedures for individual customers that include the management of daily shipment activity, route guides, exception management and resolution processes, appointment scheduling, tracking initiatives, carrier procurement, spot market management, and shipment optimization
- Manage carrier compliance and create accountability for service expectations
- Consult and offer best practices through extensive knowledge of the supply chain market and your customer’s network
- Identify opportunities to connect customers to other NFI divisions to improve their network and drive revenue to the broader organization
- Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBR) with your customer through several presentation methodologies
- Collaborates with TM director of operations to create and manage internal/external standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation
- Work with TM Engineering to Identify opportunities for optimization improvements, quantify the value, and implement the adjusted constraints
- Recognize opportunities and work to organically grow existing business
- Must gain familiarity with NFI departments such as Carrier Relations, Freight Audit/Payment, and Invoicing
- BA or BS degree required
- Ability to facilitate responsibility and manage expectations
- 5 years transportation-related industry experience with demonstrated acumen
- Become a TMS super user with the ability to train other operators
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills
- High level of business acumen and leadership qualities
- Professional aptitude, presentation and demeanor
- Ability to meet/exceed time-sensitive deadlines

- Availability to work flexible hours and travel based upon NFI and external client needs
