About this Position / Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

 

NFF is seeking a Test Automation Engineer for one of our premier DC customers. The candidate is responsible for the design, development and execution of automated tests for distributed enterprise applications with external and internal interfaces utilizing Microservices and business automation patterns. As an active participant on a scrum team, the candidate is responsible for all aspects of quality assurance including test automation, and development of automated processes within a testing framework. This role works closely with software engineers, fellow QA engineers, DevOps engineers, infrastructure and security professionals. Flexibility to work collaboratively and knowledgeably with team members in each area is vital. The candidate documents and works to resolve problems, reports progress on problem resolution, devises improvements to current procedures, and develops models of possible future configurations. The candidate will focus on the automation for testing of the software built on a technology stack using industry standard tools. It is essential that this candidate have exceptional communication skills and be flexible and knowledgeable with technology, environment and priorities.

  • Perform and write automated functional, system, regression, and integration testing
  • Design, develop, and execute automated tests.
  • Extend and enhance existing test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Ensure test environments are prepared and ready for execution of test scenarios
  • Execute test cases to validate system functionality prior to releasing to UAT/customers
  • Work closely with engineering and QA to manage and improve the development pipeline by integrating with CI/CD tools.
  • Triage, document and perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of defects reported by customers or internally to determine steps to reproduce.
  • Execute regression testing to validate defect resolution and verify existing functionality is unaffected
  • Identify, record, document test results to enable efficient resolution of defects
  • Develop automated tests for regression and reproduction of defects
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and project managers) to identify system requirements.
  • Investigate the causes of non-conforming software
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Document QA procedures for team.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • 7 years of full-time professional experience with Testing Automation and Quality Assurance, and Testing Methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of agile software development processes
  • Strong technical skills, work ethic, independence, problem solving ability, and overall positive attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with programming languages
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities
  • Ability to communicate ideas in a variety of formats
  • Proficiency with Financial Concepts, Business Math
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities with deadlines.
  • Adheres to Agile development methodology
  • Proficiency with quality assurance terminology, methods and tools

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or the equivalent combination of education, and successful work experience.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office products - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Visio and MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Power Automate
  • Knowledge and understanding of SQL
  • Proficient with Java, JUnit, TestNG
  • Experience with Python, Selenium
  • Experience with RPA and associated tools.
  • Experience with Blue Prism, UIPath, RestEasy or similar API automation
  • Experience with JMeter
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience Bash and SSH experience
  • Experience with Jira and confluence
