Nez Perce County Justice Services provides Juvenile Detention, Adult Probation, Juvenile Probation, Pre-Trial, and Clinical Services for offenders in Nez Perce County. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age. Have a High School Diploma or Equivelant. Criminal Background free of no more than 1 misdeamenor offense.
Pay is dependent on experience. Shift differential is provided on Evening and Overnight Shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Receives, supervises, safely keeps and releases all juveniles admitted into the Juvenile Detention Center.
- Performs searches
- Makes all necessary notifications to parents, guardians, the Court, and other parties as needed for juvenile detention business.
- Works directly with Juvenile Offenders while in the Juvenile Detention Center through the use of effective communication, correction, positive reinforcement, physical intervention, and utilizes disciplinary and rewards procedures.
- Assist in planning and operating appropriate programs and activities for Juvenile Offenders (recreation, crafts, hygiene, skills groups, and other appropriate rehabilitative activities).
- Receives and records Juvenile Detention records of court actions, official documents, medical reports, and other records as required.
- Work assigned shifts. Including day, evening, and overnights depending on which shift the employee is assigned to.
- Transports Juveniles as directed to court, medical, or other appointments as deemed essential.
- Any others duties as deemed needed for the juvenile detention center.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.57 - $22.00 per hour
