Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences, ensuring timely delivery of nutritious food options.
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, cleaning, and bussing to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Support the dietary department by following food safety protocols, proper food storage, and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination.
- Engage with residents during meal times, providing friendly customer service and ensuring their dietary needs are met with compassion.
- Help with meal planning, portion control, and food presentation to enhance the dining experience for residents.
- Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory levels, and sanitation schedules to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to coordinate meal schedules and accommodate special dietary requirements.
Skills
- Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food production, preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry or culinary environments.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper kitchen procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Experience working in dietary departments or with dietary aide responsibilities is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills to interact positively with residents and team members.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for meal preparation and adhere to health regulations related to food service.
