What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Machinist position at Nexus Automation?
We’re looking for an experienced Journeyman CNC Lathe machinist to come join our team in Livermore, CA. We’re a small, tight-knit shop where everyone is hands-on in multiple aspects of the company. Your initial primary responsibility will be to program and operate our CNC Lathe (2 axis and 5 axis). Depending upon experience, responsibilities may expand to include CNC Mill machining, EDM machining, and other areas.Requirements5 years experience operating a Okuma \ Mori \ Haas CNC Lathe (experience operating a Mill is a plus)2 years experience CNC programming (MasterCam preferred) is a plusComfortable setting up and operating a CNC Lathe without supervisionAble to keep multiple machines runningAble to calculate feeds and speedsAble to understand G codeUnderstanding of different types of materials, their grades and relative machinabilityAble to read and understand shop drawingsAble to lift 25 lbs, push heavy carts or crates, and can stretch, reach, kneel, or crawl as may be required by certain tasksMonitor machinery in order to identify necessary maintenance or safety issuesMaintain a clean and organized work areaBenefits401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceVision insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time off10 paid company holidays per yearFlexible hours
