Senior Technical Data Migration Lead – Salesforce & Azure

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Data Migration Lead to lead enterprise-scale data migration, integration, and modernization initiatives across Salesforce, Microsoft Azure, and related enterprise platforms.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Salesforce data architecture, Salesforce Org-to-Org migration, Azure data engineering, ETL/ELT frameworks, database design, and large-scale enterprise data transformation.

This role will own migration strategy, data modeling, source-to-target mapping, data quality, reconciliation, cutover planning, and end-to-end migration execution. The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise architects, developers, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable data migration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-scale Salesforce, Azure, and enterprise data migration initiatives.

• Manage Salesforce Org-to-Org migrations, legacy application migrations, and on-premises database migrations to Azure.

• Define migration strategies, object mapping, transformation rules, migration sequencing, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and reconciliation processes.

• Design and implement Salesforce data migration frameworks using Salesforce Data Loader, Bulk API, Metadata API, and third-party migration tools.

• Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.

• Lead the migration of large datasets, attachments, Salesforce Content Documents, SharePoint documents, images, PDFs, and other file repositories.

• Develop logical and physical data models, ER diagrams, data lineage documentation, and source-to-target mapping specifications.

• Write and optimize SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL scripts for data transformation, validation, and performance tuning.

• Implement data cleansing, deduplication, enrichment, validation, and automated reconciliation processes.

• Establish data quality KPIs, governance standards, archival policies, retention strategies, and compliance controls.

• Lead mock migrations, migration rehearsals, production cutovers, and post-migration validation.

• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams, architects, vendors, and business stakeholders to manage risks and resolve complex technical issues.

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and executive-level migration status reporting.

Required Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in data management, data migration, data integration, or enterprise data transformation.

• 8 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce data architecture and migration.

• 8 years of experience with Microsoft Azure data platforms and services.

• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale migrations involving millions of records and large file repositories.

• Strong experience with Salesforce Org-to-Org migration, Salesforce Data Loader, Bulk API, field mapping, and data transformation.

• Hands-on expertise with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.

• Strong SQL Server, Oracle Database, T-SQL, and PL/SQL skills.

• Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines, API integrations, and data synchronization frameworks.

• Experience with Databricks, Kafka, MuleSoft, and integration middleware platforms.

• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ERDs, data lineage, master data management (MDM), data governance, and data quality.

• Experience automating migration and validation activities using Python, PowerShell, or shell scripting.

• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, distributed resources, and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Data Architect, Salesforce Administrator, or Salesforce Platform App Builder certification.

• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect certification.

• Experience with Informatica, Talend, MuleSoft, or similar ETL and integration platforms.

• Experience with customer master data migration and MDM implementations.

• Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation and cloud migration programs.
