Staff Accountant

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a construction services organization to identify a Staff Accountant in Fort Worth, TX. This role is fully onsite and will support project accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations within a growing, project-based business.

This position is ideal for an early-career accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants to continue developing their accounting expertise within a collaborative team.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred
• 2 years of accounting experience within the construction industry
• Experience with project accounting, including WIP (Work in Progress), POC (Percentage of Completion), and job costing
• Experience supporting month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis

Preferred:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or other large ERP platforms
• Background in construction, homebuilding, specialty contracting, or project-based environments
• Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
