What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Manager position at NextStep Recruiting?
NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a dynamic organization to find a Project Lead – Accounts Receivable. An ideal candidate will bring strong leadership and hands-on experience in end-to-end AR operations, including billing, collections, and cash applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of improving AR processes, driving system enhancements, and collaborating across finance and IT teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and optimized cash flow. This role is 100% onsite and is initially 3-4 months in duration with the possibility of extension.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and AR accounting processes
- Hands-on experience with ERP and reconciliation tools (e.g., JD Edwards, Trintech ReconNet)
- High proficiency in Excel for analysis and reporting
- Proven leadership in AR operations, including billing, collections, chargebacks, and recovery
- Experience managing cross-functional projects, system implementations, or payment platform migrations
Preferred:
- Experience in e-commerce payment environments, payment gateways, and acquirers
- Background in fraud prevention, chargeback management, and PCI-related controls
- Experience documenting finance processes, playbooks, or training materials
