Mill-Turn Setup Machinist | 1st Shift
Minneapolis–St. Paul Area | 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
We are hiring an experienced Mill-Turn Setup Machinist to join a growing precision manufacturing operation supporting complex, tight-tolerance components.
This is not an operator-only position. We are looking for a machinist who can independently own a setup from start to finish, troubleshoot machining issues, and make the adjustments necessary to get a job running correctly and consistently.
What You’ll Do
- Perform complete CNC mill-turn setups, including tooling, workholding, work/tool offsets, and machine parameters
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and CNC programs
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding
- Produce and inspect first-piece parts before moving into production
- Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Make tooling and offset adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
- Independently troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machining issues
- Monitor production runs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and part quality
What We’re Looking For
- 4 years of CNC machining/setup experience
- Hands-on experience performing complete CNC mill-turn setups
- Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds and speeds, offsets, workholding, and machining processes
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience producing and inspecting tight-tolerance precision components
- Ability to troubleshoot machining problems independently
- Mazak Integrex or Quick Turn experience is highly desirable
- GibbsCAM experience is a plus
