Role Description The EHS Consultant (Ongoing Hiring) is a full-time, on-site role based in Sterling, VA. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures that support regulatory compliance and best practices. Daily tasks include conducting site inspections and risk assessments, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions. The EHS Consultant will develop and deliver EHS training, support incident reporting and investigations, and prepare documentation and reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies. The role also involves collaborating with project teams and leadership to integrate EHS requirements into operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Health & Safety, and Occupational Health, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations and standards.
- Experience conducting EHS Auditing, inspections, and risk assessments, including documenting findings and driving corrective and preventive actions.
- Professional EHS credentials such as NEBOSH (or equivalent certifications) and commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Proven ability to design and deliver EHS training, safety talks, and awareness programs to diverse teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, procedures, and guidance documents.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work on-site in Sterling, VA, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence safe behaviors at all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
