What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Loan Boarding Specialist position at Nextier Bank?
JOB SUMMARY
Assumes all the essential duties of the Funding, Interface Upload of the consumer loans, and the manual input to the Fiserv System in addition to the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works closely with Consumer Documentation to ensure all loan file input to Core is complete and accurate.
- Uses specialized communication software (Quest) to communicate loan status to Consumer Lenders.
- Disburses loan proceeds via wire or check.
- Uploads all closed loans into core system including AFT requests, rate change dates/reminders, collateral, etc., and ensures the upload is completed successfully.
- If applicable, copies and files mortgage through Commonwealth Credit Services.
- Verifies all disclosures are received from agent and documents are signed properly.
- Using the Loan Checklist prepared by Underwriter, organizes and files documents to a Shared Folder.
- Promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customers relations and refers customers to appropriate staff for new services as necessary
- Maintains prescribed security measures and controls intended to protect the bank against criminal and fraudulent operations and unnecessary risk or exposure
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with special projects as needed
- Attends seminars and meetings as appropriate
- Performs Notary work when necessary
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- No supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Ability to deal with customers and complex issues.
- Administration– Knowledge of business principles. Ability to work to strict deadlines and meet performance targets while maintaining accuracy, detail oriented.
- English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Laser Pro – Knowledge of mortgage/consumer loan documentation processing.
- Communication—Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
- Clerical—Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology.
- Laws and Regulations—Knowledge of the various laws and regulations governing the banking industry particularly in the lending area.
- Bank Secrecy Act – In the performance of all the respective tasks and duties, employee will maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous lending and/or financial experience helpful but not necessary
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a related field
License/Commissions: Pennsylvania Notary Public Commission preferred
