The ideal candidate will design, implement, and operate secure, resilient cloud and on-premises infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms to support DLA mission objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, integrate, secure, and optimize cloud and hybrid infrastructure supporting DLA CCIS missions
- Engineer scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant solutions across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI, etc.) and on-prem systems
- Develop and implement automation, IaC (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines to streamline provisioning, configuration, and deployment
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues across compute, storage, network, and security domains
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, and program teams to meet DoD cybersecurity requirements and DoD 8570/IAT II baseline controls
- Maintain and enforce security baselines, incident response playbooks, disaster recovery plans, and data protection measures
- Provide guidance on system architecture, capacity planning, performance tuning, and modernization efforts
- Create and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and engineering diagrams
- Perform programmatic risk assessments, security certifications, and continuous monitoring activities
- Participate in regular on-call rotations and incident response exercises
- Clearance: Secret / IT-I – Critical Sensitive (Tier 5/SSBI) / High Risk, or the ability to obtain as required by program
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in an engineering field with progressive responsibilities in systems engineering, cloud, or infrastructure domains
- DoD 8570 approval: IAT II (e.g., Security CE, or equivalent DoD-approved baseline)
- Cloud Certifications (at least one required):
- Google: ACE (Associate Cloud Engineer) or PCA (Professional Cloud Architect)
- Plus one from the following:
- AWS: Cloud Practitioner, Security-Specialty, Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, SysOps Administrator
- Azure: Admin Associate, Architect Expert, Security Engineer Associate
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): Cloud Ops
- Red Hat: RHCE or RHCSA
- Strong knowledge of DoD security and compliance requirements; experience implementing security controls for cloud and hybrid environments
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code, automation tooling, and DevSecOps practices
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in fast-paced, mission-critical environments
