About the Position
NextGen Payroll is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. This position will work directly with our clients to ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time while providing the responsive, hands-on service that differentiates NextGen Payroll.
We are specifically seeking candidates with experience working in a payroll service bureau, payroll/HCM environment, or internal payroll department. Previous experience with iSolved is strongly preferred.
The right candidate will be comfortable managing multiple client payrolls, troubleshooting payroll and tax issues, communicating directly with clients, and learning the broader capabilities of the iSolved HCM platform.
Responsibilities
- Process and review payrolls for multiple clients with varying pay frequencies
- Review payroll data for accuracy prior to processing
- Assist clients with payroll questions, corrections, and adjustments
- Process new hires, terminations, compensation changes, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll changes
- Assist with federal, state, and local payroll tax matters
- Research and help resolve payroll tax notices and discrepancies
- Review quarterly and year-end payroll information, including W-2s
- Assist clients with employee setup and payroll configuration
- Troubleshoot payroll processing and system issues
- Support new client payroll implementations and conversions
- Work with clients to collect payroll and implementation information
- Assist clients with employee self-service and manager self-service functionality
- Support Time & Attendance and related payroll integrations
- Maintain accurate client documentation and records
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding deadlines, missing information, and payroll issues
- Coordinate internally with implementation, customer service, sales, and management
- Become knowledgeable in additional iSolved HCM capabilities as the position develops
Preferred Experience
iSolved experience is strongly preferred.

- HRIS/HCM systems
- Benefits and payroll deductions

- Local payroll taxes
- Year-end payroll processing
- Payroll service bureau environments
Experience with another major payroll/HCM platform may also be considered, particularly ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, UKG, isolved, or similar systems.
Qualifications
- Prior professional payroll experience preferred
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple clients and competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable speaking directly with clients and resolving problems
- Ability to research issues and follow them through to resolution
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Ability to work independently while being part of a team
- Professional, dependable, and highly organized
- Willingness to learn additional payroll, HR, benefits, and HCM functionality
