NextGen Jane is a biotech company transforming women's health through novel menstrual science. We are pioneering research into endometriosis, infertility, autoimmune conditions, and menstrual biology. Our mission is to decode uterine biology at scale and bring new insights to inflammation biology.
We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our Oakland team. This is a full-time, in-person role with immediate start availability. Compensation: $70K–$85K annually, depending on experience. Healthcare and 401K benefits included.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Clinical Research
- Recruit, screen, consent, and enroll study participants.
- Act as the trusted point of contact for participants, ensuring safety, empathy, and compliance throughout the study.
- Prepare and submit study documents for IRB review, audits, and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain participant records and secure data storage in compliance with IRB, GCP, HIPAA, and study protocols.
- Conduct chart reviews and extract clinical data to support ongoing studies.
- Develop and maintain internal documentation, including SOPs, to support reproducibility and audit-readiness.
Lab Operations
- Accession and log returned samples into the LIMS according to SOPs.
- Perform pipetting, aliquoting, QC measurements, and freezer storage and inventory.
- Package and ship participant kits weekly, ensuring timely delivery for high-priority collections.
Data Management
- Manage and iterate on our LIS/LIMS systems, including annotation and quality control.
- Transcribe and normalize data from surveys and EMRs.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across datasets.
- Apply data analysis methods to support clinical research and operational decision-making.
- Use AI tools innovatively to streamline workflows across clinical, data, and operational tasks.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- BS or MS in biological sciences, public health, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in clinical research, laboratory operations, or a similar role (motivated candidates with strong lab/data skills are encouraged to apply).
- Familiarity with CTMS, EDC, LIS or LIMS systems preferred.
- Familiarity with project management practices.
- Strong attention to detail in both lab and data workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and empathy when engaging participants.
- A collaborator and team player who communicates openly across functions.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats and shifting between clinical, lab, data, and operational responsibilities.
- Curious and adaptable, with a willingness to learn new tools and methods as the role evolves.
- Highly organized, with ability to problem-solve and pivot between tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace; Adobe Illustrator or similar is a plus.
- Must be available full-time, on-site in Oakland, CA.
