We are seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of VoIP software applications integrated with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, test automation, Windows and Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and virtualization technologies.
This role requires a proactive engineer who can collaborate in an Agile environment, develop comprehensive test plans and test cases, identify automation opportunities, and contribute to overall software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain functional, regression, and performance test cases.
- Identify testing automation gaps and implement automation solutions to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Python, Selenium, PowerShell, Jenkins, or Ansible.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in design reviews, requirements analysis, and test planning activities.
- Perform system validation and troubleshooting through log analysis and network diagnostics.
- Execute testing in Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Support CI/CD testing processes and quality initiatives.
- Analyze network traffic and troubleshoot issues using Wireshark.
- Work with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi and RHEL-KVM.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 years of experience in software testing (manual and/or automated testing).
- 2 years of hands-on experience with:
- Windows Server environments
- Linux systems
- Test automation tools and frameworks
- Python, PowerShell, Selenium, Jenkins, and/or Ansible
- Log analysis and troubleshooting
- Wireshark and network diagnostics
- Virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi or RHEL-KVM
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Experience creating test plans, test strategies, and detailed test cases using tools such as TestRail or Azure DevOps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing VoIP applications and communication platforms.
- Experience with analog or digital Push-to-Talk (PTT) radio systems.
- Knowledge of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems.
- Experience with security-focused testing practices, including Nessus scanning, system hardening, and secure design reviews.
- Prior experience supporting telecommunications, public safety, wireless, or mission-critical communication systems.
