📍 Location: Los Angeles, CA (Onsite 4 days/week)

💼 Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Role Overview

Seeking a senior-level Optical Architect with strong hybrid experience across Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber networks. This role owns end-to-end fiber infrastructure—from metro/long-haul routes to in-building connectivity and optical system turn-up (DWDM/CWDM).

Key Responsibilities

• Design and validate OSP fiber routes (metro rings, laterals, ROW, permitting, route diversity).
• Lead ISP design: MMR, ODF layouts, patching, rack elevations, and structured cabling.
• Own optical system turn-up including DWDM/CWDM, link budgets, and performance validation.
• Review OTDR, IL, ORL test results and ensure production readiness.
• Develop MOPs, cutover plans, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate across construction, splicing, and network engineering teams.

Must-Have Skills

• 10 years of OSP ISP fiber engineering experience
• Strong expertise in DWDM/CWDM, ROADM, EDFA, optical transport systems
• Hands-on with OTDR, fiber testing, and link budget analysis
• Experience with route diversity, splice planning, and large-scale fiber builds
• Ability to design and support carrier-grade optical networks
• Familiarity with AutoCAD / GIS tools

Nice to Have

• BICSI (RCDD), FOA, or CCNP/SP certifications
• Experience with Ciena, Nokia, or Cisco optical platforms
• Background supporting live broadcast / sporting event networks
