Work Arrangement: 100% Remote
Preferred Location: Northeast (preferred, not mandatory)
Work Schedule: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM EST

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced OSP Engineer II professionals to support outside plant (OSP) decommissioning activities, specifically the retirement of traditional OSP electronics and associated equipment connected to legacy TDM switches and central offices, including FTTP-related infrastructure.

Candidates must have hands-on experience with TIRKS, LFACS, EWO creation, CAD/drafted records management, and traditional wireline OSP engineering. Experience with Telcordia systems and wireline provisioning, inventory, and engineering documentation processes is highly desirable.

Must-Have Requirements

• Hands-on experience with traditional wireline OSP engineering and infrastructure.
• TIRKS experience specifically related to OSP — mandatory.
• LFACS (Loop Facility Assignment and Control System) experience.
• EWO (Engineering Work Order) creation and engineering documentation.
• CAD/drafted records experience, including updating existing drawings and facility records.
• Understanding of wireline OSP decommissioning processes.
• Experience managing engineering records, inventory updates, and documentation throughout decommissioning projects.

Technical Skills and Preferred Experience

• Telcordia systems: LFACS, SWITCH, LEIS, and TIRKS.
• CAD and drafting: MicroStation experience is a plus.
• OSP operations: Traditional wireline infrastructure, central office connectivity, and FTTP-related electronics.
• Microsoft Office: Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Data analysis: Spreadsheet management, tracking, and reporting.
• GIS tools: Beneficial but not mandatory.
• Project coordination: Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute decommissioning activities for OSP electronics connected to legacy TDM switches being retired.
• Support traditional OSP electronics associated with central offices and FTTP infrastructure.
• Create, review, and update Engineering Work Orders (EWOs).
• Update CAD drawings, drafted records, and facility documentation to reflect decommissioning changes.
• Use TIRKS, LFACS, SWITCH, and other applicable systems to validate and update wireline facility and provisioning records.
• Follow a structured 21-step decommissioning process.
• Coordinate and track multiple projects daily while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Perform detailed documentation, spreadsheet analysis, and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensure engineering records and system information accurately reflect completed decommissioning work.
