NOC TechnicianLocation: Melville, NY / Rochester, NY / Doral, FLClient: Crown Castle USA Inc.Shift: Fri–Mon, 2:00 PM–1:00 AM (1-hour lunch)Role OverviewThe NOC Technician is responsible for monitoring network events, initiating incidents, performing initial triage, and managing escalations and notifications in a 24×7 environment. This role involves direct customer communication and close coordination with Tier 2 teams. Candidates must be able to diagnose hardware, software, and system issues within a telecommunications network environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor all critical systems 24x7x365 and respond to customer support calls.Create incident tickets and perform initial triage based on alarms and customer reports.Assess customer impact and urgency.Resolve issues using established procedures and runbooks when possible.Escalate to appropriate internal teams when required and maintain ownership until resolution.Provide customer updates and send incident notifications as per defined processes.Verify resolution and close tickets.Ensure proper shift handover following operational guidelines.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.1–2 years of experience in telecommunications or related fields.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.Ability to multitask and work both independently and under supervision.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Solid understanding of telecom concepts, including:SONET, IP subnetting, Layer 2/3 routingDWDM, dark fiber servicesExperience with one or more platforms:Ciena, Cisco Optical, Infinera, Juniper MX/EX, MRV, Cisco routers/switchesFamiliarity with NMS/EMS systems.Experience with L2/L3, BGP, IPv6, or JUNOS is a plus.
