An Investment Management Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Operations Associate.
Responsibilities:
- Actively support a portfolio of asset-backed securities, including (but not limited to): Reperforming Loans, CMBS, Direct Real Estate, Marketplace Loans, CLOs, Non-US ABS, and CMBX/ABX.
- Perform daily and monthly position and P&L reconciliation; sign off on administrator agreement and resolve discrepancies.
- Handle month-end reconciliation: process factor updates, principal and interest distributions, interest shortfalls, and related items in the firm’s proprietary system; utilize Intex for remittance reports, offering documents, and investor reports.
- Assist the PM with month-end ABS portfolio valuation; coordinate pricing requests with counterparties and vendors; support the challenge process; prepare and submit the Portfolio Summary to the Valuation Committee.
- Support Marketplace and Reperforming Loan securitizations: partner with legal and investment teams on deal collapses, reporting, and follow-on security purchases.
- Manage full trade life cycle: instrument setup, trade booking, affirmation/confirmation, and coordination with prime broker settlements teams to resolve settlement issues.
- Maintain strong communication and relationships with internal teams, external administrators, counterparties, trustees, paying agents, and prime brokers.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
- General understanding of structured credit asset classes, including ABS, RMBS, CMBS, and CLOs.
- Bachelors degree in finance or related field.
- 3 to 8 years of middle or back-office experience, preferably within a buy-side fund.
- Proven ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure.
- Experience with portfolio management systems (e.g., Geneva, VPM, etc.).
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to take direction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with or exposure to Intex, Bloomberg, and trustee websites.
Salary : $140,000 - $200,000
