A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as an Operations Associate.
Responsibilities:
- Support the full trade lifecycle across multiple asset classes, including equities, derivatives, credit, and FX, from execution through settlement; serve as backup to the Trading and Operations Associate as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate trade capture, allocations, confirmations, and settlements.
- Coordinate with outsourced middle- and back-office providers, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders to identify and resolve trade breaks, settlement fails, and discrepancies with brokers and counterparties.
- Work closely with the Trading and Operations Associate and Portfolio Manager to support accurate and efficient trade execution.
- Provide operational support for margin, financing, stock borrow/loan activity, proxy voting, and corporate actions.
- Assist with onboarding new brokers, counterparties, and trading relationships.
- Maintain data integrity across order management, portfolio, and risk management systems, and support timely and accurate client reporting.
- Participate in system testing, system enhancements, and process automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
- Support the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel with day-to-day administrative and operational needs, including scheduling, coordination, and meeting support, as well as broader firm initiatives and process improvements.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, BBA, or equivalent) required, with a strong academic record.
- Demonstrated interest in investment management operations and compliance, with a willingness to learn, think creatively, and collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to help build a high-performing organization and positive workplace culture.
- Excellent quantitative, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and a commitment to high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; experience with coding languages (e.g., Python or R), database tools, and data visualization software is a plus.
- 0–2 years of experience at an investment adviser or alternative investment manager preferred, but not required.
Salary : $100,000 - $115,000
