An Investment Management Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as an Operations Associate.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily cash and position breaks with prime brokers and custodians.
- Serve as a liaison with custodians and prime brokers to ensure accurate trade execution and settlement.
- Oversee daily loan administration within the firm’s accounting system, including tracking of contracts, principal and interest payments, and drawdowns to support post-close processes.
- Identify and help resolve transactional or accrual discrepancies as they arise.
- Provide end-to-end operational support for a variety of financial instruments, including Bonds, CLOs, ABS, Currency Forwards/SPOTs, Bank Loans, and Equities.
- Conduct performance metric analysis and reporting for the deal team and front office, including IRR and MOIC calculations.
- Interact daily with internal and external stakeholders—including Front Office, Fund Accounting, Fund Administrators, SMA Clients, and Auditors—to resolve booking and position discrepancies.
- Manage the full lifecycle of corporate actions and amendments, from securing internal approvals to completing documentation and booking transactions upon effectiveness.
- Support monthly CLO reconciliations of positions and cash with collateral agents and trustees.
- Perform daily P&L reconciliation with fund administrators.
- Assist the front office with liquidity management, budgeting, and deal execution.
- Ensure accurate recording, cash flow reconciliation, and settlement of total return swaps with ISDA counterparties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business field.
- 3–6 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of fixed income instruments and/or bank loans.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of various operations and accounting systems; experience with a Security Master is preferred.
- Experience with Indus Valley Partners (IVP) tools, FIS VPM accounting system, or Bloomberg is a plus.
- Familiarity with S&P ClearPar and other syndicated loan platforms is an advantage.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
