Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy Resources participates in Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and Landfill Gas to Power infrastructure development, construction, management and operations through either wholly owned subsidiaries or joint ventures. We participate in over 30 sites across multiple states to help provide access to domestic fuel sources, including clean-burning renewable natural gas. Job Overview
In this role, the Plant General Manager will oversee a team of leaders at multiple generation and/or RNG processing facilities. Individuals are accountable for all aspects of the management and performance of both the physical and human assets in Newly constructed facilities transitioning to operations. This position will include a minimum of 50% travel across various sites in the United States.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provides leadership in all aspects of operation and maintenance of the fleet
Manages the technical performance of the fleet
Develops and manages site / fleet budgets
Leads the safety of the fleet and personnel
Complies with all regulations and policies
Oversees personnel development and succession planning
Drives the continuous improvement of performance
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Position Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage portfolio of operating landfill to power and/or RNG production facilities
Maintain close working relationships with customers and stakeholders
Supervision of the hiring, training, development and retention of a rapidly growing team of experienced landfill to power and/or RNG operators & technicians in remote locations
Lead the evaluation of potential projects (e.g., equipment upgrades, process flows / P&IDs, safety considerations)
Ensure consistent execution of safe work practices while performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response
Drive creative problem solving to address operational issues and optimization opportunities
Interact/supervise/manage vendors and/or sub-contractors needed to assist with operating, monitoring, and maintenance of the production assets
Proactively work with landfill partners to optimize and increase efficiency of their gas collection systems
Leverage industry relationships to provide leads that result in growth for the Company
Support the annual budget process and monthly reviews, as necessary
Possess proficiency with MS Office Suite products, in particular Word, Outlook and Excel.
Strictly follow and enforce Company safety policies and administer Company policies and procedures with direct reports, contractors and vendors.
Required Qualifications
Based out of the JRA (preferred) or Houston office
Min of 7 years of direct leadership experience
Experience with RNG and/or fossil plant operations and maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or master’s in business, Engineering, sciences, or arts
Accreditation from a professional organization and/or continued education classes supporting RNG design, operations and maintenance considered a strong plus
Significant analytical skillset
Able to solve complex problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build relationships
Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
Six Sigma Certification; Yellow Belt or higher (preferred)
