As the Director, Development you are responsible for originating and advancing electric transmission infrastructure opportunities across the Northeast U.S. (NYISO, ISO-NE, PJM) and Canada with a particular focus on New England.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes regional transmission development strategy for New England (ISO-NE) market and supports adjacent markets similarly.
- Identifies, evaluates, and advances new transmission project opportunities, including competitive solicitations and bilateral developments
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including utilities, regulators, policymakers, and potential development partners
- Represents the company at industry conferences, working groups, and regulatory forums to enhance market visibility and influence outcomes
- Monitors market, policy and regulatory developments (RTO, Commission, State/Local authorities, etc.) and incorporates insights into development strategy
- Leads early-stage project activities, including project concepts, site identification, routing considerations, partnership structuring, and initial commercial frameworks
- Collaborates with internal cross-functional teams (engineering, development, regulatory, finance, legal) to position projects for successful advancement
- Supports competitive proposal development
- Provides appropriate updates and strategic recommendations to senior management on project pipeline, risks and opportunities
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
