Job Title: Scrum Master
Location: Memphis, TN; local candidates preferred; remote candidates considered Overview We are seeking a Scrum Master to help software delivery teams plan effectively, resolve obstacles and improve how they work together. You will facilitate Scrum events, coach distributed teams, support product owners with backlog readiness, and use delivery data to guide planning and continuous improvement.
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:30 a.m.4:30 p.m. The work involves sustained concentration and attention while coordinating Scrum team activities for approximately 90% of the work time. Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective to support clear decisions, feedback and adaptation.
• Partner with product owners and teams to refine backlogs, prepare sprint-ready user stories and clarify acceptance criteria.
• Use team delivery data to forecast velocity and help set realistic sprint goals that support delivery and team development.
• Remove impediments and coordinate with other teams to resolve dependencies that could affect sprint or business goals.
• Coach team members toward collaboration, accountability and independent decision-making, including effective coordination across locations.
• Create and share agile metrics using tools such as Jira, Confluence or comparable platforms.
• Build productive relationships with partner departments and help address process and delivery challenges.
• Work with teams to develop and follow through on continuous improvement plans.
• Contribute to a Scrum Master community of practice by sharing ideas and helping deliver prioritized improvement work.
• Coordinate with IT management on staffing, skill development, hardware, software and tooling needs.
• Apply experience across agile frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, LeSS and Nexus, to support team effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of Scrum Master experience.
• Thorough understanding of agile software development values, principles and practices, including approaches that support quality delivery.
• Experience leading distributed Scrum teams and communicating effectively with offsite team members.
• Strong organization, meeting facilitation, communication, collaboration, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and guide teams toward empowerment and accountability.
• Knowledge of Scrum patterns and techniques, such as burndown methods, retrospective formats and handling bugs.
• General knowledge of at least two of the following: user stories, continuous integration, test-driven development, DevOps, continuous testing, pairing, automated testing or agile games.
• General knowledge of interactive, web-based technologies spanning front-end and back-end systems.
• Familiarity with tools supporting agile practices, such as Jira and Confluence or comparable tools, including Rally and SharePoint.
• Knowledge ordinarily acquired through a bachelors degree in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two active certifications from the following: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified Team Coach (CTC), SAFe Agilist (SA), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
