Telecom / OP Technician

The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Satellite Communications Technician to support and maintain DoD and commercial SATCOM systems, including modems, baseband gear, and backup power systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate / Maintain various DoD and commercial satellite communications systems, modems and baseband equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on electronic equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair communications system faults
• Prepare written reports as required
• Utilize electronic test equipment to troubleshoot serial and IP circuits
• Operate power backup systems including diesel generators and UPS
• Escort visitors as required
• Perform duties while standing and walking for extended periods
• Climb and work safely at various heights on antenna structures
• Operate effectively in outdoor environments, including inclement weather and confined spaces
• Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 lbs. as required.
• Other duties as assigned

• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance with the US Government
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with good driving history

Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Military satellite communications SHF and/or EHF operator course or equivalent accredited college/commercial education/military experience as required.

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities

• 3 years’ experience in satellite communications equipment operations and maintenance required.
• Prior experience or demonstrated familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) satellite communication operations.
• Familiar with basic computer network operations

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A , Network , Security certifications desired Professionalism and positive attitude in workplace interactions
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy CMS program.
• Knowledge of U.S. Navy 3M program.
