Position Overview

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Clinic Information

• Location: 2741 NE McBaine Dr, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064
• Clinic Hours:
• Sunday–Saturday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Patient Population: Infant through geriatric
• Setting: Walk-in urgent care
  

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in accordance with clinical best practices for urgent care and occupational health
• Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care aligned with NextCare’s mission and values
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions clearly to patients
• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Take personal responsibility for appropriate coding and billing of services
• Maintain clinical productivity consistent with urgent care standards
• Deliver care in a legal, ethical, and professional manner
• Follow up on patient care as clinically indicated

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Missouri NP or PA license
• Active DEA
• PA: NCCPA certification
• NP: ANCC or AANP certification (Family Nurse Practitioner required)
• Ability to treat all age groups, from infant to geriatric
• Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or Master’s degree in Nursing
• Active BLS certification
• EHR proficiency
• Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (training provided at no cost)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in urgent care, emergency department fast-track, or walk-in clinic
• Experience with suturing and wound care
• Initial x-ray interpretation experience prior to radiology over-read
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies (for PAs)
