Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
- Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
- Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
- Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Code and bill services appropriately
- Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
- Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
- Active, unrestricted Texas license
- National board certification or eligibility, as applicable
- PA: NCCPA certification
- NP: ANCC or AANP certification
- Active DEA license
- Ability to treat patients of all ages
- Active BLS certification
- EHR proficiency
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
- DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (paid training and fees)
- Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast‑track experience
- Strong procedural skills (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care)
- Experience with initial x‑ray interpretation prior to radiology over‑read
