Position Title: Robotic Welding Operator
Department: Production – Welding
Reports To: Welding Lead
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Type: Hourly, 40 hours per week
Classification: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $19-22 per hour

Position Summary

Next Venture Motorsports is seeking a Robotic Welding Operator to join our Welding team. This role works in a team-based manufacturing environment operating robotic welding equipment and supporting the production of high-quality welded metal components. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, works well in a fast-paced setting, and is committed to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Weld automotive components from pre-cut and pressed metal parts.
  • Operate robotic welding cobot equipment.
  • Jig and tack parts to maintain smooth flow into the welding cobot process.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Operate equipment safely and follow all safety procedures and work habits.
  • Inspect workpieces for defects and verify alignment using jigs, calipers, rulers, clamps, and other measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Assist welding and fabrication team members with production support tasks, including preparing items for welding, moving materials, and picking parts.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools commonly used in welding and fabrication, including MIG and TIG welders, grinders, drill press, tubing bender, and band saw.
  • Determine required equipment and welding methods using basic math, geometry, and welding knowledge.
  • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
  • Use computers and electronic devices to perform essential job functions.
  • Inspect equipment and materials to identify errors, defects, or other issues.
  • Replace welding equipment components as needed.
  • Notify the Welding Lead or Production Manager when supplies or materials are low or need to be reordered.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers in person, by phone/text, and by email.
  • Organize, plan, and prioritize daily and weekly work to meet production goals.
  • Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information when needed.
  • Support final assembly of production parts prior to the QC process.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1 year of professional welding experience preferred.
  • Previous fabrication environment experience preferred.
  • Formal vocational education or training preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good knowledge of and adherence to safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Computer literacy.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand in one place for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, position, and move machinery and materials.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks requiring considerable use of arms, legs, and full-body movement, including standing, sitting, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Repetitive motion involving hands, wrists, fingers, and arms.
  • Ability to regularly lift more than 75 lbs.
  • Close vision required for reading small print on a computer and/or paperwork.
  • Ability to load, unload, push, pull, and lift equipment and product components.

Environmental Conditions

  • Manufacturing environment.
  • Daily exposure to contaminants and excessive noise.
  • Required PPE includes safety glasses/ face shields, steel-toe shoes, gloves, ear protection, welding helmet, protective welding clothing or jacket.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
