Senior Cost Estimator / Construction Manager
Position Summary
NEXT Team Services is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator who can lead estimating efforts and provide cross‑functional support in scheduling, forecasting, and project controls. This role is designed for an experienced professional who can independently manage complex estimates, guide junior staff, and partner directly with client teams to drive clarity, accuracy, and predictable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of conceptual, feasibility, BVOA, bid‑check, and funding‑grade estimates
- Validate scope, perform quantity takeoffs, analyze vendor proposals, and benchmark costs
- Own estimate structure, WBS alignment, and documentation for audit‑ready deliverables
- Support Level 1–4 schedule development, logic reviews, and progress updates
- Provide inputs for forecasting, trending, risk/opportunity tracking, and change management
- Collaborate with PMs, engineering, procurement, and field teams to ensure alignment on scope, assumptions, and execution strategy
- Mentor junior estimators and project support staff
- Contribute to continuous improvement, LEAN IPD practices, and data‑driven decision making
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience in cost estimating, project controls, or capital project delivery
- Strong command of estimating methodologies, market drivers, and construction sequencing
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with systems such as Coupa, SAP, Planview, or eTrending is a plus
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decisions and clarify assumptions
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable leading workstreams independently
