Qualified Professional-Day Treatment

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Hours may vary based on program needs.)

Position Summary

The Qualified Professional (QP) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating therapeutic day treatment services for children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. The QP ensures the implementation of individualized treatment interventions, clinical oversight, behavioral support services, and program compliance in accordance with North Carolina 10A NCAC 27G .1400 Day Treatment Service requirements, Medicaid standards, and agency policies.

The QP provides supervision and support to paraprofessional staff, coordinates treatment planning activities, collaborates with families and community providers, and assists clients with achieving treatment goals related to emotional regulation, behavioral stabilization, academic functioning, communication, social skills, and community integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Conduct and coordinate client assessments, service planning, and treatment interventions

· Develop, implement, and monitor Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) and behavioral support strategies

· Monitor client progress toward treatment goals and recommend modifications when appropriate

· Provide supervision, coaching, and support to paraprofessional and associate professional staff

· Review and approve documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance

· Assist with staff training, orientation, and competency development

· Support crisis intervention and behavioral stabilization efforts

· Ensure services are delivered in accordance with Medicaid, licensing, and CARF standards

· Participate in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, IEP meetings, and discharge planning

· Maintain communication with families, schools, and community providers regarding treatment needs

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or related field required

· Experience consistent with North Carolina Qualified Professional standards

· Experience working with children, adolescents, behavioral health, or day treatment services preferred

· Ability to pass background checks and required screenings

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Knowledge of North Carolina Day Treatment and Medicaid service requirements

· Knowledge of behavioral health treatment interventions and crisis management techniques

· Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

· Ability to supervise and support multidisciplinary staff

· Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Work Environment

This position operates within a structured Day Treatment setting serving children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. Staff may encounter emotionally stressful situations, behavioral crises, and active therapeutic environments requiring flexibility, professionalism, and leadership skills.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
