Company Description Next Step Counseling is a growing outpatient group mental health practice serving communities across Rhode Island and Connecticut. Role Description The Mental Health Clinician will provide individual, family, and group counseling to clients across the lifespan in an outpatient setting. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering evidence-based interventions, and coordinating care with other providers and community resources. The clinician will maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation, participate in case consultation and team meetings, and contribute to an inclusive, trauma-informed environment. This is a part-time, on-site/telehealth role located in Cranston, RI, with a focus on high-quality, ethical, and culturally responsive care.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Social Work and Case Management skills to assess needs, coordinate services, and advocate for clients.
  • Solid knowledge of Psychology and Behavioral Health principles to deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience in Family Therapy and related modalities to support families and caregivers in treatment.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related mental health field.
  • Current or eligible licensure in Rhode Island (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, Psychologist) and willingness to comply with all state and ethical guidelines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive, LGBTQ and neurodiversity-affirming care.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Experience in outpatient or community mental health settings is preferred; bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
