Next Round is expanding its team – specifically the outreach team that goes out holders of unicorn position and sources them for our clients to purchase. We feel that given the grit, tenacity and hustle it requires to be a great journalist, we feel the background is the ideal one.

This is someone who loves picking up the phone, ask thoughtful questions, connect dots, and uncover information that isn't sitting in a database.

At Next Round, we buy and sell secondary transactions in many of the world's leading private technology companies. Our competitive edge comes from finding proprietary liquidity opportunities before they become broadly marketed. Since our inception in 2020, we closed on $2.7bln in transactions in over 85 companies.

The ideal candidate should come from firms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, Mergermarket, PitchBook, TechCrunch, Axios, or another business publication covering private markets, venture capital, M&A, or technology.

The role includes:

• Researching private company ownership (we use Pitchbook and several other databases)

• Mapping shareholder bases and cap tables

• Speaking with founders, former employees, investors, and advisors

• Identifying potential secondary sellers

• Developing proprietary market intelligence

• Working directly with senior leadership on high-impact transactions
