We are seeking a Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a federal data modernization initiative advancing enterprise analytics, data integration, and information sharing. This role includes support for risk detection, anomaly analytics, and operational data integrity of improve mission outcomes across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical advisor for enterprise data management, ensuring data quality, structure, and governance align with mission objectives
- Lead data discovery, mapping, and standardization efforts across multiple data sources, including relational, dimensional, and unstructured data
- Support ingestion, transformation, and analysis of social and engagement data to enrich analytical insights
- Advise on integrating diverse data sources, including public-facing and social interaction data, into enterprise analytics environments
- Provide subject matter guidance on entity resolution, data modeling, schema design, and metadata management for large-scale analytical environments
- Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams on integration and ingestion pipelines using Databricks, Informatica, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and AWS Glue
- Translate mission and business needs into data requirements, analytic models, and visualization frameworks
- Support data lake and warehouse initiatives, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and traceability of data
- Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools, including AI/ML, knowledge graphs, and predictive analytics
- Document data sources, lineage, and business rules; contribute to data governance and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 7 years of experience in data management, analytics, or data architecture roles
- Experience working with DHS, USCIS, or similar federal data domains involving case management, adjudication, identity resolution, or operational analytics
- Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Informatica IICS, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SAS, and Tableau
- Proficiency in data modeling, PL/SQL, Python, and schema design
- Demonstrated experience implementing data governance, metadata management, and ETL standards
- Strong understanding of cloud data architectures (AWS preferred)
- U.S. citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Knowledge of social data integration and analytics supporting engagement insights
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration and advanced analytics for predictive or prescriptive use cases.
- Certifications in AWS, Databricks, or Informatica
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience in systems with complex requirements
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
- Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to navigate in an office setting unassisted
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Strong verbal communication and clear articulation skills are required
