Fire Alarm Operations Manager – Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Fire Alarm experience is REQUIRED. Candidates without commercial fire alarm experience will not be considered.
Next Level Technician is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Operations Manager to lead commercial fire alarm operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is a leadership role for someone with a strong background managing commercial fire alarm installation, service, inspections, testing, and troubleshooting teams.
This is NOT a general low voltage or structured cabling position. Applicants must have hands-on commercial fire alarm experience and proven leadership within the fire alarm industry.
Salary: $85,000–$110,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of commercial fire alarm installation, service, inspection, testing, and maintenance projects.
- Manage fire alarm technicians, foremen, and field crews including scheduling, manpower planning, and project assignments.
- Provide technical leadership and support for fire alarm installations, troubleshooting, commissioning, inspections, and service work.
- Review fire alarm blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, specifications, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with customers, general contractors, project managers, vendors, AHJs, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct jobsite visits, quality control inspections, and safety audits.
- Resolve escalated technical and operational issues related to commercial fire alarm systems.
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of fire alarm technicians.
- Manage labor, materials, inventory, equipment, and project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, NFPA 72, local fire codes, and company safety standards.
- Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction, documentation, installation quality, and project completion.
REQUIRED Qualifications
Commercial Fire Alarm experience is an absolute requirement.
Applicants must have:
- 5 years of commercial fire alarm experience.
- Leadership experience managing fire alarm installation and/or service teams.
- Strong knowledge of commercial fire alarm installation, service, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Experience with fire alarm control panels, initiating devices, notification appliances, NAC circuits, SLC loops, and associated system components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable local fire codes.
- Experience coordinating technicians, schedules, labor, materials, and project timelines.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Louisiana as needed.

- Manufacturer certifications (Edwards, Notifier, Siemens, Silent Knight, Honeywell, Potter, EST, Simplex, FireLite, or similar)
