CNC Operator

Position Summary

This position sets up and operates CNC machines as well as other machines including drills, mills, and other machining

centers.

Essential Functions

• Able to access and load specific CNC programs to produce machined parts to specs and within tolerances.

• Able to set up tool carriages/carriers with proper machine tools, ensuring tool life is observed.

• Able to read and follow specific and detailed work instructions, drawings, or samples.

• Perform light maintenance on the machines ensuring coolant and other systems are maintained and working.

• Perform any required deburring, part clean up, and inspection as required.

• Must be able to follow the production schedule, read detailed work orders, and report production and scrap.

• Perform any other related work duties as required.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Must work safely observing all rules/procedures and ensure all safety systems are functioning at all times.

• Must be able to read detailed prints and detailed work instructions, and utilize measuring equipment such as calipers,

micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, tape measures, scales, etc.

• Must be able to understand, create and enter tool paths per prints.

• Must be capable of reading and understanding machining instructions and maintaining tolerances.

• Must be capable of maintaining operator-controlled machine adjustments and P.M.

• Must be dependable, responsible, and have a can-do attitude
